Ingredients

Dough and Base
  • 1 package pizza dough
Filling
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (any color works!)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
Toppings and Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for some heat)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle.
  3. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, keeping a border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, followed by pepperoni slices, bell peppers, and black olives.
  5. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough into a log, ensuring the filling stays inside.
  6. With a sharp knife, cut the log in half lengthwise, but leave one end intact to create a twist.
  7. Twist the two halves together to form a braid. Shape it into a circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. Brush this flavorful mixture over the top of the braid.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the braid is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy your mouthwatering creation!

Notes

For the best experience, serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Consider adding a fresh salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. For leftovers, refrigerate for up to three days and reheat in the oven.
