Ingredients

Filling Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/2 cup cooked macaroni noodles
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with other cheeses like pepper jack for extra flavor.
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
Dough Ingredients
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onions over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the diced pickles, cooked macaroni, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar, ketchup, and mustard until everything is well combined.
  4. Roll out the refrigerated pie crusts on a floured surface. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or the rim of a small bowl.
  5. Spoon a generous amount of the cheeseburger mixture onto one half of each dough circle.
  6. Fold the other half over, creating a half-moon shape, and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Arrange the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is a lovely golden brown.
  2. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a shine on your crust, brush the tops with a beaten egg before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze unbaked hand pies for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for best results.
