- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Warm for about 30 seconds.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Push the onions and garlic to one side of the pan. Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon or meat chopper.
- Stir everything together, seasoning with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
- Continue to cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess liquid if needed.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Remove from heat.
- Use immediately or let cool and store for later use.
Notes
Leftover Lean Ground Beef can be stored in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, warm it in a skillet over medium heat until heated through. It can also be frozen for up to three months.
