Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Beat in eggs one at a time until well blended.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  2. Allow bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week; freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the microwave for 15 seconds for a fresh-baked taste.
