Ingredients
  

For the Mozzarella Sticks

  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese (string cheese works wonders) You can also use part-skim mozzarella for a lower-calorie option.
  • 1 cup Almond flour You can substitute with coconut flour if desired.
  • 2 Eggs Used as a binding agent.
  • 1 tsp Baking powder Just a pinch needed.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Add more for extra flavor.
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning Customize with herbs of your choice.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Enhances the flavors.
  • optional Parmesan cheese For extra depth of flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Cut your mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 3 inches long.
  • In one bowl, whisk the eggs. In a separate bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each mozzarella stick into the egg wash, making sure it’s thoroughly coated, then roll it in the almond flour mixture. Shake off excess flour.
  • For a thicker crust, repeat the process of coating.

Baking

  • Place the coated sticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  • Bake for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye towards the end to prevent overbaking.
  • Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with marinara, ranch, or aioli for dipping.

Notes

For best texture, allow cheese to cool before breading and don’t overcrowd the baking sheet. You can freeze the sticks before cooking for later use.
