Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can 12 oz Bully Beef (Salted Canned Beef)
  • 1 large Bell Pepper
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 2 medium Plantains
  • 1 tbsp Jerk Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 cup Rice

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Drain the bully beef and break it up. Add it to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes until it begins to brown slightly.
  3. While the beef cooks, chop the bell pepper, onion, garlic, and tomatoes. Set aside.
  4. Add the onions and garlic to the skillet with the beef, stirring occasionally. After 2–3 minutes, add the bell peppers and tomatoes. Stir in the jerk seasoning and cook for another 5–7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. While the beef mixture cooks, peel and slice the plantains. In a separate pan, heat oil and fry the plantains until golden and crispy on both sides.
  6. Serve the Jamaican Bully Beef over rice and top with the fried plantains. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and enjoy your flavorful and hearty meal!

Notes

For added taste, try incorporating chopped green onions or parsley for garnish. Serve with steamed vegetables, garden salad, mango salsa, cucumber salad, or pickled vegetables for balance.
