  • 1 lb Italian sausage Use hot or mild as preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

Cooking

  • Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and red bell pepper, cooking until softened.
  • Add the minced garlic and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until the sausage is browned and cooked through.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the sausage mixture, stirring well to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with your choice of herbs or grated cheese.

Notes

For added flavor, make it a one-pot meal by cooking the pasta directly in the sauce. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. It can also be frozen for up to three months.
