Preparation

  • If you're using homemade dough, let it rise until doubled in size. Otherwise, roll out your store-bought dough to fit your heart-shaped pan.

Making the sauce

  • In a saucepan, heat some olive oil. Sauté chopped garlic until fragrant. Add canned crushed tomatoes, a splash of vodka, and a bit of cream. Let it simmer, then season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.

Assembling the pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Spread the vodka sauce evenly across the pizza base, leaving a border for the crust.
  • Layer the pepperoni generously over the sauce.
  • Drizzle hot honey across the pepperoni, ensuring a bit of sweetness in every bite.

Adding cheese

  • Generously sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, followed by fresh basil if desired.

Baking

  • Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Finishing touch

  • After baking, drizzle a little more hot honey on top before slicing!

Notes

To achieve the best results, use a pizza stone if available, bake at a higher temperature for a crispy crust, and avoid overloading on toppings to prevent sogginess.
