Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice Juice from 1-2 fresh lemons
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Raw honey is preferred for health benefits
  • 2 cups Hot water Water just off the boil

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 inch Fresh ginger Grated for added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon For extra warmth

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat water until boiling, then let it cool slightly to avoid scorching the lemon.
  • Squeeze the juice from 1-2 lemons to yield about 2 tablespoons. Adjust according to taste.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey to the lemon juice and stir until well combined.
  • Pour the hot water over the lemon and honey mixture and stir again.
  • Taste the mixture and adjust with more honey or lemon as desired.
  • If using, grate in some fresh ginger and sprinkle cinnamon for added flavor.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness and tartness according to personal taste. Avoid boiling raw honey to preserve its nutrients.
