Ingredients

Salmon fillets

  • 4 pieces 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets Skin-on is optional.

Seasoning and sauces

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the salmon filets dry and season them with salt, pepper, paprika, and blackening seasoning (if using). Set aside.
  • Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the broiler.

Cooking

  • Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Melt the butter with the olive oil.
  • Add the minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir until the sauce is heated through, which takes about 30 seconds.
  • Place the salmon filets in the skillet, skin side down if using skin-on. Cook for about 3 minutes while basting the salmon frequently with the sauce.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil for 5-6 minutes, basting once during cooking. The salmon should be caramelized and cooked to your desired doneness.
  • Garnish with minced parsley if you wish, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the salmon marinate in the seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking. Make sure to baste the salmon frequently while cooking to keep it moist. If you prefer a thicker glaze, allow the sauce to simmer longer in the skillet before adding the salmon.
