Ingredients
  

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 3/4 cup grated cucumber (squeezed) Use fresh cucumbers and squeeze out excess moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon grated garlic (1 clove)
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 lemon juiced Freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Opt for full-fat for richer flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Begin by grating the cucumber and squeezing out the excess juice. Set the cucumber aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, grated garlic, and lemon juice. Stir well until all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Drizzle in the olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix again.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Avoid freezing as it may change the texture. Let the tzatziki sit for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. For variations, consider adding jalapeƱos for spice or mint for fresh flavor.
