Preparation

  • In a saucepan, add the fresh milk and white sugar.
  • Whisk the mixture together until combined.
  • Bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  • Keep stirring the mixture to prevent it from burning.
  • Let it simmer and thicken for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  • If desired, add a pinch of baking soda and mix well for about a minute.
  • Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
  • Once cooled, transfer it to a clean jar.

Notes

Store in a clean jar with a tight lid in the refrigerator for about a week, or freeze in small portions. Stir often while it simmers to avoid burning.
