Main Ingredients

  • 4 medium Tomatoes (halved) Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • 1 small Onion (cut into large chunks)
  • 1 medium Jalapeno (seeds removed and coarsely chopped) For a milder salsa, reduce or omit the jalapeno.
  • 1 cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 3 cloves Garlic (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 0.25 tsp Sea salt Adjust seasoning as needed.

Preparation

  • Halve the tomatoes.
  • Cut the onion into large chunks.
  • Remove the seeds from the jalapeno and coarsely chop it.
  • Coarsely chop the garlic.
  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  • Gently mix until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Serving

  • Serve immediately or chill for later.

Notes

Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The flavors will continue to blend as it chills, making it even tastier the next day. You can turn this salsa into a fruit salsa by adding diced mango or pineapple.
