Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups chopped tomatoes (or 28-ounce can diced tomatoes)
  • 1/4 small onion
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper (seeds removed)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Chop the tomatoes and place them over a strainer for 5 minutes to drain excess liquid.
  • Discard the liquid and add the tomatoes and the rest of the ingredients to a blender or food processor.
  • Pulse until blended to your desired consistency.
  • Transfer the salsa to a jar and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

Store salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for freshness. Freeze leftovers in a freezer-safe container for up to three months.
