Ingredients
  

For the Pizza Poppers

  • 1 package Crescent Dough Use according to package instructions.
  • 1 cup Mini pepperonis Can be omitted for vegetarian version.
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to substitute with other cheese.
  • 1/2 cup Pizza sauce For dipping.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Melted for brushing.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic salt Adds flavor to the edges.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven according to the crescent dough package instructions.
  • Roll out the crescent dough and cut it into small squares.
  • Place a few mini pepperonis and a tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center of each square.
  • Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and seal them to form pockets.
  • Place the pockets on a baking sheet.

Baking

  • In a small bowl, melt the butter and mix in the garlic salt.
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture over the tops of the dough pockets.
  • Bake in the oven for the recommended time on the crescent dough package, or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve your Homemade Pizza Poppers warm, alongside a small bowl of pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, leave out the mini pepperonis and add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms. Brush with more melted butter before baking for an extra crispy crust.
