  • 4-5 large Fresh ripe peaches Canned peaches (drained, but fresh is preferred)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar Coconut sugar for a deeper flavor
  • 2 cups Heavy cream Half-and-half for a lighter version
  • 1 cup Whole milk Almond milk for a dairy-free option
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Almond extract for a twist
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Lime juice for a zesty flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash, peel, and slice the peaches. Sprinkle sliced peaches with lemon juice.
  • Mash half of the peaches in a bowl until broken down but still textured. Add remaining sliced peaches, granulated sugar, and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Cream Base

  • In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine cream mixture with peach mixture and blend until creamy, being careful not to over-blend.

Chill and Churn

  • Cover mixture and chill in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • Churn in ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 20–30 minutes, adding chunks of peach halfway through.

Freezing

  • Transfer the churned mixture to an airtight container and freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight.

Serving

  • Let ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
  • Serve on its own or with a drizzle of honey or toasted almonds.

Notes

Ensure to use ripe peaches for the best flavor. Avoid rushing the chilling process for a smoother texture.
