Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups mixed nuts (such as peanuts, almonds, and cashews)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it bubble without stirring until it reaches a golden color, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and carefully stir in the mixed nuts, butter, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Quickly pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Allow it to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. In humid areas, place parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking. Can be frozen for several months if well-wrapped.
