Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups 4 cups of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, or your choice) Use ripe fruit for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups 2 cups of sugar Adjust to taste if you prefer a less sweet jam.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1 packet 1 packet of pectin

Preparation

  • Prepare your jars and lids by washing them in hot soapy water.
  • In a large pot, combine the fruit and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the fruit is soft.

Cooking

  • Stir in the sugar and pectin. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat and pour into the prepared jars, leaving some headspace.
  • Seal the jars and process them in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  • Let cool and store in a cool, dark place.

Notes

Store your Homemade Jam in a cool, dark place for several months. Once opened, keep it in the fridge for freshness. If you have extra jam, consider freezing it in airtight containers for up to a year. Simply thaw it in the fridge when you’re ready to use it. For variations, try adding spices, or infuse with herbs for unique flavors.
