Ingredients
  

Dough Base Ingredients

  • 1 pack rapid rise yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • 1 cup warm milk Ensure the milk is warm, not hot.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 and 1/2 cups flour Plus extra for dusting.

Additional Ingredients for Variants

  • 2 tablespoons oil For frying or cooking.
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt For naan.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley For garnish on naan.
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 and 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter For brushing rolls.
  • 1 egg white egg white plus 2 tablespoons water For egg wash.

Instructions
 

Dough Preparation

  • In a large bowl, add warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Mix and let it rest for 5 minutes until it bubbles.
  • Add eggs, butter, salt, and flour. Mix thoroughly until combined and shape into a round ball.
  • Knead until smooth. Let it rest for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Divide the dough into two parts. On a floured surface, roll each out to about 1/4 inch thick. Using a donut cutter, cut each donut.

Frying Donuts

  • Heat a deep frying pan with about 3 inches of oil. Fry the donuts until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels or a wire rack, then roll in white sugar before serving warm.

Making Naan

  • Mix sugar, yeast, and warm water; let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • Add salt, oil, and yogurt, then stir in 2 cups of flour.
  • Knead for 10 minutes, adding more flour if needed for a smooth texture.
  • Let the dough rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Divide the dough into 7-8 pieces, roll each into a ball, then flatten to about 5-6 inches in diameter.
  • Heat a pan, spray with oil, and cook each naan until golden brown on both sides. Brush with butter and sprinkle with parsley before serving.

Making Pizza Dough

  • Combine dry yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring until the dough begins to form.
  • Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Let it rise in a greased bowl until it doubles in size.
  • Roll out the dough and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  • Add sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings, then bake for 18 minutes or until golden brown.

Making Dinner Rolls

  • Combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl, letting it bubble for 5 minutes.
  • Add oil, salt, and eggs, then incorporate flour one cup at a time.
  • Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into 16-24 pieces, roll them into balls, and arrange in a baking pan.
  • Allow them to rest and rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F, brush with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes. Finish with a brush of melted butter.

Notes

Always ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Use measuring cups for accuracy. Let your dough rise in a warm, draft-free area for optimal results.
