Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Use room temperature for better texture.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  • Add salt, vanilla, and eggs; beat on low speed until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  • Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake until cookies are golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Frozen dough or baked cookies can last longer if sealed tightly.
