  • 1 whole jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and diced Leave some seeds for extra heat if desired.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice Add more for a tangier taste.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, cilantro, jalapeño pepper, minced garlic, cumin, lime juice, and salt.
  • Stir everything together until well combined.
  • For a smoother texture, blend the mixture in a food processor or blender until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 5 days; stir before serving. Let the salsa sit for at least 30 minutes after making it to allow flavors to meld.
