Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Blueberry Mixture

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries can substitute with frozen if necessary
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to enhance flavor
  • 1/2 cup blueberry puree optional for swirl effect

Instructions
 

Prepare Blueberry Mixture

  • In a saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice over medium heat. Cook until blueberries are soft and syrupy.
  • Allow the mixture to cool, then strain if desired to remove skins.

Mix Ice Cream Base

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the cooled blueberry mixture to the cream mixture and stir until combined.

Churn Ice Cream

  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • If using, fold in blueberry puree for swirl effect before transferring to a container.

Freeze

  • Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks. Let it sit out for a few minutes at room temperature before serving if it becomes too hard.
