  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey Use lean ground meat for a healthier option.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder for the meatballs.
  • 1.5 teaspoons dried parsley Adds flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Adds flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Adds flavor.
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper Adds spice.
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced small For flavor and texture.
  • 0.25 cup breadcrumbs Helps bind the meat mixture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat your oven to 400 degrees F to prepare for baking the meatballs.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil or apply cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, egg, dried parsley, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, diced onion, and breadcrumbs. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Wet your hands and roll the mixture into 2-inch balls, placing them about 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the meatballs for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. If using a dark-coated baking sheet, flip the meatballs halfway through to prevent burning.
Serving
  1. Serve hot with your favorite sauce over pasta or as a delicious appetizer.

Notes

For extra flavor, add grated Parmesan cheese to the meat mixture. Ensure meatballs are uniform in size for even cooking. Customize herbs and spices to your liking. For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes.
