  • 1 Small Yellow Onion, diced Add flavor to the beef mixture.
  • 4 Medium Russet Potatoes Slice into thin rounds for layering.

Preparation and Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Slice the russet potatoes into thin rounds.
  • In a baking dish, layer half of the potato slices at the bottom.
  • Spread the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
  • Top with the remaining potato slices.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and slightly browned.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a fresh garden salad, garlic bread, or steamed vegetables. For added flavor, consider drizzling with sour cream or barbecue sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
