  • 1 lb lean ground beef Use lean to reduce fat content.
  • 4 medium Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, diced Diced for even cooking.
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped Adds flavor.
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced Adjust to taste.

Seasonings

  • 1 tsp salt To taste.
  • ½ tsp black pepper To taste.
  • 1 tsp paprika For flavor.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano Adds aroma.

Preparation

  • Peel and dice the potatoes.
  • Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced potatoes and seasonings; mix well to coat evenly.
  • Cover with a lid, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve hot and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Pairs wonderfully with a side salad or steamed vegetables. Adding a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh parsley elevates the dish.
