  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs They should be at room temperature.
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract For extra festive flavor.
  • 1 cup green food coloring Gel works best for vibrant color.

Mix-ins and Toppings

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips Can substitute with dark chocolate chips or crushed peppermint candies.
  • to taste Red and green sprinkles For decoration.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy and creamy for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla, peppermint extract, and green food coloring.
  • Slowly add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips gently.
  • Using a cookie scoop, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart and sprinkle with red and green sugar.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are soft.
  • Allow cooling on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For perfect results, ensure proper measuring and room temperature ingredients. Store baked cookies in an airtight container. Dough can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for three months.
