  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce Or your favorite pizza or pesto sauce
Cheese and Meat
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni Or swap for another protein like Italian sausage
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese For added flavor
Garlic Mixture
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic gives the best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
  3. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  5. Arrange pepperoni slices on the cheese.
  6. Starting from one end, roll the dough into a log, pinching the seam to seal securely.
  7. Cut the log into 1-inch slices to create your garlic knots.
  8. Place the garlic knots around the edge of a greased round pizza pan.
Finishing Touches
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Brush this mixture generously over the garlic knots.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown and the cheese melts.
