Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature for best texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Colored sprinkles (optional) Customize with different colored sprinkles.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Place the dough in a cookie press or a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

Baking

  • On ungreased baking sheets, pipe out your desired shapes of cookies.
  • If desired, sprinkle colored sprinkles on top of the unbaked cookies.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about one week, or freeze for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature before serving. Experiment with different cookie shapes and flavors like almond extract.
