Ingredients
  

For the Cookies

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup salted sweet cream butter (softened) for the cookie dough
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 extra large eggs (room temperature) for best texture

For the Frosting

  • 1/2 cup salted sweet cream butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla flavoring
  • 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons half and half add more or less to achieve desired consistency
  • 2 to 3 drops pink gel food coloring optional

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • In another large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract; beat until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on a wire rack.

Frosting

  • For frosting, beat the softened butter with clear vanilla flavoring, then gradually add powdered sugar and half and half until desired consistency is reached.
  • Optionally, add pink gel food coloring.

Final Steps

  • Frost cooled cookies and enjoy!

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh. For longer storage, freeze them with layers of parchment paper in between.
