Ingredients
  

For the Cobbler

  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned, drained) Use ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided) 1/2 cup for the batter, 1/2 cup for the peaches.
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk Can substitute with 2% or almond milk.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted) Melt in the baking dish.
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish and melt it in the oven.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk to form a batter.
  • Pour the batter over the melted butter in the dish — do not stir.
  • In another bowl, mix the sliced peaches with the remaining sugar and cinnamon.
  • Spoon the peaches evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir.

Baking

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the cobbler is golden brown and bubbling.
  • Let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
