French Dip Style Biscuits

Ingredients
  

For the biscuits
  • 1 can 16.3 oz refrigerated biscuits (8 count)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese Can substitute with Swiss cheese or hot pepper cheese.
For the filling
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef Can substitute with turkey or ham.
  • 2 tablespoons creamy horseradish sauce Essential for flavor.
For the dipping sauce
  • 1 packet 1 oz au jus gravy mix Prepare according to package directions.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of biscuits and slice each biscuit in half horizontally. Spread creamy horseradish sauce generously on the cut sides.
  3. On the bottom half of each biscuit, place a slice of provolone cheese. Add a portion of roast beef, then top it with the remaining half of the biscuit.
  4. Pinch the edges to seal securely and place them on the lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is beautifully melted.
  2. While the biscuits are baking, prepare the au jus according to the package directions.
  3. Serve the biscuits hot, with au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

Let leftovers cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. They can be stored in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the oven until warmed through.
