  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup marshmallow cream
  • ½ cup butter or margarine, if preferred
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation

  • Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Once bubbling softly, add the sugar and evaporated milk, stirring frequently to combine.
  • Continue to stir until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil.
  • Let it boil for exactly 4 to 5 minutes while constantly stirring.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add the chocolate chips and marshmallow cream.
  • Stir until completely smooth and glossy.
  • While still warm, add in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, stirring to incorporate fully.

Finishing

  • Quickly pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Allow it to cool at room temperature for at least an hour before transferring it to the fridge for at least 2 hours to fully set.
  • Once firm, lift it out using the parchment paper and cut it into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator; it lasts for about 2 weeks. Experiment with different types of chocolate or add nuts for variations.
