Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Use room temperature butter for better texture
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar For chewier cookies, use more brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips Feel free to use different types of chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Enjoy warm cookies with a glass of milk or ice cream on top. To store, keep in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
