  • 7 tablespoons butter For melting
  • 10 ounces miniature marshmallows For the base
  • 8 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal For fruity version
  • 6 tablespoons margarine For melting
  • 10 ounces marshmallows 40 marshmallows or 5 1/2 cups mini marshmallows for Reindeer Treats
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal For Reindeer Treats
  • 2 ounces white almond bark Optional decoration
  • 16 pieces chocolate covered pretzels Decoration for Reindeer Treats
  • 1 piece red M&M Decoration for Reindeer Treats
  • 7 pieces brown M&M’s Decoration for Reindeer Treats
  • 16 pieces candy eyes Decoration for Reindeer Treats
  • Colorful sprinkles Optional decoration
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter For Peanut Butter version
  • 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter For Peanut Butter version
  • 10 ounce bag marshmallows For Peanut Butter version
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract For Vintage Squares
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips For Peanut Butter version
  • 1/4 cup butter For Vintage Squares
  • 1 bag mini marshmallows For Vintage Squares
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla For Vintage Squares

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in the Fruity Pebbles until evenly coated. Press the mixture into a greased pan.

Reindeer Treats

  • Melt the margarine and add the marshmallows; stir until melted. Mix in Rice Krispies, then spread in a pan and decorate with pretzels, M&M's, and candy eyes.

Peanut Butter Version

  • Melt the butter, add peanut butter, and marshmallows until smooth. Stir in Rice Krispies and chocolate chips, then press into a pan.

Vintage Squares

  • Melt butter, mix in mini marshmallows and vanilla, and then mix in Rice Krispies.

Notes

Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture and taste. Spray your hands or spatula with cooking spray to prevent sticking when pressing the mixture into the pan. Let the treats cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares to ensure clean edges.
