Dough and Base

  • 1 tube 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough Can use pizza dough or puff pastry as a variation.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Other cheese options like cheddar or pepper jack can be used.
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni Can be skipped for vegetarian versions.
  • Optional toppings (bell peppers, olives, etc.) Experiment with favorite toppings to customize.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Roll out the crescent dough and cut it into squares to fit the muffin cups.
  • Place the dough squares in each muffin cup.
  • Spoon a small amount of pizza sauce into each cup.
  • Add a layer of mozzarella cheese and then top with sliced pepperoni.
  • Optionally, add any other toppings you prefer.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before removing from the tin and serve warm.

Notes

Make sure to roll the crescent dough thin enough for a good layer of sauce and toppings. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
