Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan, ensuring an even layer. Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
Making the Filling
- While the crust is baking, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt in a separate bowl until the mixture is smooth.
- Fold in the chopped pecans and mix thoroughly.
Assembling the Bars
- Once the crust is baked, pour the pecan mixture over it and spread evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly firm to the touch.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares or rectangles.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an elevated dessert experience. Ensure to chill bars for cleaner slicing.
