Ingredients
  

Fruit Layer

  • 4 cups sliced peaches Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sugar For sweetening the peaches.

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 cup sugar Remaining sugar for the batter.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Ensure it's melted for proper mixing.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder For leavening.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Serving

  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream Optional, for serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches and 1/2 cup sugar, then spread them evenly in a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter over the peaches in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

Serving

  • Let cool slightly and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Notes

Store leftover cobbler covered with plastic wrap or aluminum foil in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave before serving if desired. Add cinnamon or nutmeg for an extra flavor twist.
