  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a skillet, sauté the onion in olive oil.
  • Add the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, cooking until browned.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the soup and milk together.

Layering

  • Layer one-third of the potatoes, followed by the beef mixture, and then the soup mixture in the greased dish.
  • Repeat this layering twice more.
  • Top the final layer with cheddar cheese and cover the dish with foil.

Baking

  • Bake covered for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and let rest before serving.
  • Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture. You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. Add diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes for spice. Broil for a crispy topping. Slice potatoes evenly for uniform cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for three months.
