Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 1 box boxed cake mix (yellow or white)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream adds moisture
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk for the glaze
  • food coloring (red and green for swirls)
  • holiday sprinkles (optional for decoration)
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar to create the glaze

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the boxed cake mix, water, vegetable oil, eggs, and sour cream. Mix until well blended.
  3. Divide the batter into two separate bowls. Add food coloring to one bowl to create a red batter and to the other bowl for green.
Baking
  1. Alternate pouring spoonfuls of the red and green batter into the prepared bundt pan to create swirls.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
  2. Optionally, top with holiday sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Ensure bundt pan is well-greased. For more flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Consider using additional holiday decorations like edible glitter.
