  • 1 whole rotisserie chicken Shredded for convenience and flavor.
  • 8 oz spaghetti Use any pasta of your choice.
  • 8 oz mushrooms Sautéed until softened; substitute with other vegetables if desired.
  • 1 cup cream Can substitute with half-and-half or cashew cream.
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese Shredded; consider using high-quality cheese.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Italian-seasoned or panko for a crispy topping.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced for fragrance.
  • to taste salt Adjust to your preference.
  • to taste pepper Adjust to your preference.
  • 1 tbsp butter For sautéing the mushrooms.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain but do not rinse.
  • In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat and sauté sliced mushrooms and minced garlic for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Making the Sauce

  • Stir in the cream and add a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese, along with salt and pepper. Simmer until the cheese melts into a creamy sauce.

Combining Ingredients

  • Add the shredded chicken and drained spaghetti to the skillet. Mix thoroughly to coat everything well, adding a splash of pasta water if too thick.

Baking

  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let sit for a few minutes before serving.
