  • 4 cups beef stock
  • 1/4 cup butter Unsalted butter is recommended.
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch For thickening the gravy.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Once melted, add the cornstarch and sauté until the cornstarch turns brownish.
  • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  • Gradually add the beef stock, whisking constantly until the cornstarch mixes well.
  • Continue whisking until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency, which will take about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Serve the gravy warm, seasoned with black pepper if needed.

Notes

Store leftover gravy in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally. For variations, consider adding mushrooms or using chicken stock.
