  • 1 package instant banana pudding mix (3.4 oz) This gives the salad its creaminess.
  • 2 cups cold milk Chilled milk helps the pudding thicken faster.
  • 1 container whipped topping (8 oz), thawed Can substitute with fresh whipped cream.
  • 1 cup mini vanilla wafers For layering.
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans Optional for added crunch.

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until the pudding thickens.
  2. Gently fold in the whipped topping with a spatula until completely combined.
  3. In a large bowl, layer half of the banana slices.
  4. Spoon half of the pudding mixture over the bananas, then sprinkle half of the mini vanilla wafers on top.
  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining banana slices, pudding mixture, and mini vanilla wafers.
  6. If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a unique twist, experiment with different pudding flavors or use graham crackers instead of vanilla wafers. Store leftovers in an airtight container; best enjoyed within 3-4 days.
