Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth and creamy.
  • Incorporate melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla into the bananas, stirring until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in your choice of nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits if using.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
