Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce adjust to spice preference

Thickening Agent

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water to create cornstarch slurry

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, add the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sriracha sauce. Stir well to combine.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth to create the cornstarch slurry.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly as the sauce thickens to a smooth consistency.
  • Once the sauce has thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Use it immediately or store it for later.

Notes

Adjust the amount of sriracha sauce based on your spice preference. For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce. Boost the flavor with a splash of sesame oil or a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving. If you want a thicker sauce, simply add a little more cornstarch mixed with water. Serve with fresh herbs like cilantro or green onions for added freshness.
