Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture until just blended.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
Baking
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are golden.
- Allow to cool on wire racks.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Freeze cookies in a freezer-safe bag for later use.
