  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese Can be substituted with gouda or pepper jack.
  • 0.5 cup chopped dill pickles For a tangy flavor.
  • 0.25 cup diced green onions
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
For coating
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans For a crunchy coating.
For serving
  • Crackers or vegetables To serve with the cheese ball.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Add the chopped dill pickles, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
  3. Once combined, form the mixture into a ball or log shape with your hands.
  4. Roll the cheese ball in the chopped pecans until it’s fully coated.
  5. Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  6. Serve chilled with crackers or cut vegetables.

Notes

For a creamier texture, allow cream cheese to come to room temperature before mixing. This cheese ball can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to a week. It also freezes well.
