Ingredients
  

Cupcake Batter

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Sifted to avoid lumps
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Can substitute with a sugar alternative
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder Dutch-processed cocoa can enrich the taste
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder Must be fresh for potency
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda Must be fresh for potency
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Sea salt can be used for a gourmet touch
  • 2 Large Eggs Can substitute with flax eggs for vegan option
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil Can use melted coconut oil or applesauce
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk Can substitute with yogurt or milk mixed with vinegar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Almond extract can be used for a twist

Filling and Frosting

  • 1 cup Raspberry or Strawberry Jam Other fruit jams can be used for different flavors
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Can substitute with margarine for dairy-free version
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar Add until desired consistency is reached
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream Can replace with coconut cream for dairy-free frosting
  • 1 tbsp Red Food Coloring Optional for visual appeal

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the sifted flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently. Do not over-mix.
  • Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about two-thirds full.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before filling.

Assembly

  • Once cooled, use a small knife to create a hole in the center of each cupcake. Fill the hole with your choice of jam.
  • For the frosting, beat the unsalted butter in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and heavy cream, mixing until fluffy. If desired, add red food coloring for a gory effect.
  • Frost the cupcakes generously, and enjoy!
