Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the donuts from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Store donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze fully cooled donuts in a freezer-safe bag. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes before enjoying.
