Ingredients

Cheesecake Filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh strawberries
Wonton Ingredients
  • 24 pieces wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries, mixing well to combine.
  3. Place a teaspoon of the cheesecake mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  4. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold to form a triangle or a pouch, pressing the edges firmly to seal.
Frying
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the wonton bites in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove the wontons from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.

Notes

Store any leftover wonton bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Freeze uncooked assembled wontons for later use. Reheat fried bites in the oven to maintain crispiness. For variations, try using different fruits or add flavorings like coconut extract.
