  • 1 oz taco seasoning packet Adjust spice level with mild, medium, or hot.
  • 2 cups salsa Choose according to desired spice level.
  • 1 unit lime For squeezing juice.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken in the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the chicken.
  • Pour the salsa on top of the chicken.
  • Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Shred the chicken before serving and mix it with the salsa mixture.

Notes

Serve over rice, in tortillas, or on nachos. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Freeze shredded chicken for up to 3 months.
